30 Year Teaser

The Spring Newsletter celebrating our 30th anniversary is coming soon! In the meantime, enjoy a handful of photos and some words that go along with them.

Meals Together

There isn’t anything quite like the company of friends. Whether it’s old friends or new, being together can be rejuvenating. When the world seems like it is falling apart, it is these friendships that give us the strength and courage to go on.

That Sunday Thing

Some people say that church is what happens on Sunday. We believe that church is what happens from Monday to Sunday. Our daily actions show our priorities. On Sunday though we come together to renew our spirits and give thanks. Communing, singing, praying, laughing and learning are staples of our Sunday thang, and it is these activities that help us through the week of church ahead.

Creation

There is something grounding in the act of creation. Through creative activities like art, photography, drama, and storytelling we reflect our Creator. We encourage, listen and provide space for our community to listen to their hearts.

Celebration

Whether it’s joining together to dance, or sitting around a table celebrating Christmas, when we engage in celebration we lift each other up. There is something mysterious and other-worldly when you dance with someone who just cussed you out. Or when you open Christmas crackers with someone who just lost their child to CAS. These moments bring us together and help us remember our humanity.

Covid-19

What an incredible time. Encampments, overdose deaths, housing, violent evictions, family portraits…so many different things have occurred. And we are trying to hold our community well in the midst of all of it.

Meals, art, sleeping spaces, health care, outreach, advocacy. So much the same and not the same at the same time. We are looking forward with eager anticipation to when we can sit around a table together again.

Thank you for skipping back through time with us. If you don’t get our regular email newsletters, please click the link below and sign up - we would love to stay in touch this way!
