Outdoor Christmas Party

“This is the only Christmas party I am getting to have this year!”

This year’s Sanctuary Christmas feast looked a little different than other years, but we improvised and still had quite a ball! Our kitchen crew started cooking away at 5am, and worked hard into the evening. We decorated our parking pad with our two Christmas trees, and strung lights across the front. We even wrapped our porta-potties with wrapping paper and a bow!

We had three stations set up outside: Santa’s Snack Shack, Santa’s Pub, and Santa’s Workshop. There was roast beef, homebaked cookies, charcuterie snacks, paired with hot chocolate and coffee - all packaged to-go. Santa even showed up with a wagon full of gifts for our friends! There was live music that broadcasted from inside the building to outside (thanks Sam!), and a little dance party to end off the night.

It was really lovely getting to see so many of our friends, as we all made the best of the circumstances.

This year has been quite a ride - and there is much for us to be grateful for, to be joyful for, in the midst of the sadness, grief, and heaviness.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Praying that you know peace and joy so deeply; and that the New Year is one hope and renewed strength.

Together, in community.
